Installing your limousine cover

Limousines are longer than anything else on the lot, but the cover goes on the same easy way: find the front, roll it forward, strap it down. A second pair of hands makes it quicker, not required.

Step by step

The install, start to finish

1–5 minutes, 1–2 people. Straps, buckles and protectors are all included.

1
Find the front tag

A white tag marks the front end of the cover. Start at the rear of the limousine and line the tagged end up with the hood.

2
Roll it forward

Roll the cover from the rear toward the front, then pull the sides down evenly over the body.

3
Smooth and center

Walk around once and tug the hem until the cover sits smooth and snug at both ends, no bunching, no bare corners.

4
Strap it down

Run the front and rear straps under the bumpers and clip the buckles. The elastic hem plus straps keep wind out for good.

Parked somewhere windy?

Add heavy-duty wind straps.

The included straps handle everyday weather. For exposed driveways, open lots and coastal or high-wind areas, a set of heavy-duty wind straps anchors the cover front and rear so gusts never work it loose. Cheap insurance for the cover and the paint. You will also see the option to add them in your cart and at checkout.

Included free

Your cover ships with a free antenna patch.

Every car, truck, hearse and limousine cover, in every grade, includes a self-adhesive antenna patch in the box. Non-retractable antenna? Fit the cover, mark where the antenna touches, make a small opening, and press the patch over it. Two minutes, no tools.

The don'ts that keep cover and vehicle perfect

Never cover a wet limousine: trapped moisture is the enemy
Let the engine, exhaust and tailpipe cool completely first
Close every window and the sun/moon roof
Fresh paint must fully cure before the cover goes on
Fresh wax needs to dry completely too
Convertibles: top up before covering
Just driven, or baked in the sun? Let it cool first
Vinyl wraps: fine indoors, but avoid long-term outdoor covering, heat and trapped moisture can discolor a wrap
Exposed carbon fiber: safe indoors, but skip outdoor covering, sun and heat can discolor the clear coat
Taking it off

Removal & storage

Unclip the straps and roll the cover back from front to rear. Fold it flat, roll it tight, and keep it in the storage bag so it stays clean between uses.

Make sure the cover is completely dry before you put it in the bag. A damp cover in a closed bag will grow mildew.

Keeping it fresh

Cleaning

Hand wash with mild soap and water and let it air dry, easiest with the cover on the vehicle. If you must machine wash, cold water and a mild cleaner only.

  • No bleach, harsh soaps or fabric softeners
  • Never machine wash, machine dry or iron
  • Air-dry completely before it goes in the bag

Quick answers

How do I know which end is the front?+

Every cover has a white tag marking the front. Even when the tag doesn't say "FRONT," the tagged end always goes at the front of the limousine.

How does the cable lock work?+

Gold Shield 5L and Supreme Shield HD covers include a cable, lock and key. Thread the cable through the grommets at the cover's midpoint, pass it under the limousine, and click the lock shut. Now the cover stays put, and stays yours. Cable lock installation guide

What do I do about a non-retractable antenna?+

Fit the cover, mark where the antenna touches, and make a small opening just big enough to pass through. Seal the opening with the included self-adhesive antenna patch so it never stretches or tears. Antenna patch installation guide

What are heavy-duty wind straps?+

Optional extra straps that anchor the front and rear of the cover. The included straps handle everyday weather; in exposed, gusty spots like open lots, coastal parking and high-wind areas, a heavy-duty set keeps the cover locked down for good. You can add a set from the wind straps product page, or in one click from your cart or at checkout.
