Important Warnings
- Never cover a wet limousine.
- Allow the engine, exhaust, and tailpipe to cool down completely before covering.
- Always ensure windows and sun/moon roofs are closed before installing the cover.
- Do not use a cover on a freshly painted limousine. Ensure the paint is fully cured before covering.
- If you have recently waxed your limousine, ensure it is completely dry before using the cover.
- Do not cover a convertible limousine with the top down.
- Avoid covering your limousine right after driving. Let it cool down completely first.
- After long exposure to the sun, allow your limousine to cool before putting on the cover.
Removing Your Limousine Cover
To remove the cover, simply unclip the straps and roll it off from front to back. Carefully fold and store the cover in the included storage bag to keep it clean and ready for the next use.
Properly storing your cover in the bag prevents damage, reduces wrinkles, and extends the cover's lifespan. Learn more in our detailed guide: The Essential Guide to Car Cover Storage Bags.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I identify the front of the cover? Look for the white tag that indicates the front. Even if it’s not labeled “FRONT,” it’s still the front of the cover.
How do I install the cable lock set? The cable lock set, included with both Gold Shield 5L and Supreme Shield covers, comprises a cable, lock, and key. To install, thread the cable through the grommets at the midpoint of the cover, pass it underneath your vehicle, and secure it with the lock. For a comprehensive guide on cable locks and their installation, see our blog post. To purchase an additional cable lock set, visit our cable and lock set for car cover product.
How do I use the antenna patch? For limousines with a fixed antenna, identify the spot on the cover while it's in place, then carefully cut a small hole and secure it with the included patch. If your antenna doesn’t retract, this patch offers a simple solution. Begin by installing the cover starting from the front tag, smoothly pulling it backward until it reaches the antenna. Mark the precise location where the antenna meets the cover. Create a small cut at this spot—just large enough for the antenna to pass through—minimizing the opening to protect against external elements. Position the patch over the hole, letting the antenna slide through for a secure fit. This patch strengthens the area around the opening, preventing tears and stretching. What are Heavy Duty Wind Straps? These optional straps are designed to help secure your cover in windy conditions, attaching to the cover at the front and rear for added stability. To order wind straps, click here.
How should I wash the cover? Hand wash the cover using a mild cleaner and water, then air dry. For machine washing, use cold water and mild cleaner only—avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
