You’ll also find answers to frequently asked questions and recommended accessories to get the most out of your car cover.

Please keep in mind: This guide is intended to be universal and is compatible with all car models.

What’s Included

  • 1 x Car Cover
  • 1 x Cable Lock Set (Cable, Key, and Lock) – Only included with the Gold Shield 5L and Supreme Shield covers.
  • 1 x Storage Bag
  • 1 x Antenna Patch
  • 2 x Sets of Straps and Buckles (front and rear)

Optional Accessories

Step-by-Step Installation

  • Step 1: Locate the front label tag on the cover (it may not be marked “FRONT,” but it’s still the front). Begin at the rear of your car, rolling the cover forward over the hood.
  • Step 2: Center the cover and pull it down evenly over the mirrors and sides for a balanced fit.
  • Step 3: Continue adjusting the cover to ensure it’s smooth and snug over the rear and front of your car.
  • Step 4: Secure the built-in straps by running them underneath the front and rear bumpers, then clip them into place to hold the cover firmly.

For Custom-Fit car covers, follow the same steps, but it is recommended to secure the cover over the mirrors before installing the front and rear sections.

Important Warnings

  • Never cover a wet vehicle.
  • Allow the engine, exhaust, and tailpipe to fully cool down before covering.
  • Always keep windows and sun/moon roofs closed when covering your vehicle.
  • Do not use a car cover on a recently painted vehicle. Make sure the paint is fully cured.
  • If you have recently waxed your car, ensure it is completely dry before using a cover.
  • Do not cover convertible vehicles with the top down.
  • Avoid covering your car immediately after driving. Let the vehicle cool completely first.
  • After prolonged sun exposure, let your vehicle cool before installing the car cover.

Removing Your Car Cover

To remove the cover, simply unclip the straps and roll it off from front to back. Carefully fold and store the cover in the included storage bag to keep it clean and ready for the next use. Properly storing your cover in the bag prevents damage, reduces wrinkles, and extends the cover's lifespan. Learn more in our detailed guide: The Essential Guide to Car Cover Storage Bags.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I identify the front of the cover? Look for the white tag that indicates the front. Even if it’s not labeled “FRONT,” it’s still the front of the cover.

  • How do I install the cable lock set? The cable lock set, included with both Gold Shield 5L and Supreme Shield covers, comprises a cable, lock, and key. To install, thread the cable through the grommets at the midpoint of the cover, pass it underneath your vehicle, and secure it with the lock. For a comprehensive guide on cable locks and their installation, see our blog post. To purchase an additional cable lock set, visit our cable and lock set for car cover product.

  • How do I use the antenna patch? For vehicles with a fixed antenna, identify the spot on the cover while it's in place, then carefully cut a small hole and secure it with the included patch. If your antenna doesn’t retract, this patch offers a simple solution. Begin by installing the cover starting from the front tag, smoothly pulling it backward until it reaches the antenna. Mark the precise location where the antenna meets the cover. Create a small cut at this spot—just large enough for the antenna to pass through—minimizing the opening to protect against external elements. Position the patch over the hole, letting the antenna slide through for a secure fit. This patch strengthens the area around the opening, preventing tears and stretching. • What are Heavy Duty Wind Straps? These optional straps are designed to help secure your cover in windy conditions, attaching to the cover at the front and rear for added stability. To order wind straps, click here.

  • How should I wash the cover? Hand wash the cover using a mild cleaner and water, then air dry. For machine washing, use cold water and mild cleaner only—avoid bleach and fabric softeners.
