Class C Motorhome RV Cover - Installation Guide

This installation guide is designed specifically for your Class C RV Cover. Class C motorhomes have unique features, like their cab-over bunk and mid-sized design, so this guide walks you through everything you need—what's included with your cover, how to prepare your RV, the safest way to install and remove your Class C cover, tips for keeping it clean, and answers to the most common questions from Class C RV owners.

What's Included

  • 1 x Class C RV Cover
  • 1 x Storage Bag
  • 4 x Rain Gutters Protector
  • 1 x Ladder Cap
  • 1 x Repair Patch
  • 1 x Weighted Buckles Bag

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Wash your Class C motorhome thoroughly before putting on the cover. Clearing away dirt, dust, and debris helps protect the finish and ensures the cover lasts longer.
  • Check for sharp points such as side mirrors, rain gutters, rivets, or awning corners. Pad these areas where needed. Be sure to use the included rain gutter protectors and ladder cap to reduce wear and prevent tears on your Class C RV cover.

How to Install Your Class C RV Cover

  • STEP 1: Unpack the Class C RV cover on a clean, flat surface such as a driveway. Undo all straps and buckles.
  • STEP 2: Position the cover so the roof section is facing upward.
  • STEP 3: Find the tag labeled “FRONT” to confirm the correct orientation.
  • STEP 4: Fold the side panels inward toward the roof section, then roll the cover from back to front.
  • STEP 5: Place the rolled cover on the roof at the front of your motorhome. Since Class C RVs are fairly tall, use a ladder or ask for assistance if needed.
  • STEP 6: Unroll the cover toward the rear of the RV, allowing the side panels to drape naturally down each side.
  • STEP 7: Carefully come down the ladder, attaching the ladder cap protector as you go. Pull the cover down evenly. (Note: Walking on the roof isn’t required, but it can make installation quicker on larger Class C RVs. Always use caution.)
  • STEP 8: Adjust the cover so it’s centered over your motorhome before fastening straps. Secure the bottom corners first, then tighten the straps and buckles to remove excess slack.
  • STEP 9: Fasten the remaining middle and bottom straps. Use the weighted toss bag to pass straps safely underneath the motorhome.
  • STEP 10: When fully secured, the Class C RV cover should fit snugly and stay in place even in light wind.

Warnings

  • Never enter or stay inside your Class C motorhome while the cover is in place.
  • Do not start or operate the RV engine when the cover is installed.
  • Avoid installing or removing the cover during high winds.
  • Never attempt installation while standing on a wet or slippery roof surface.

Due to the size of Class C motorhomes, installation is safest with two people. Always communicate with your helper during the process to avoid accidents. Team installation also makes removal much easier.

How to Remove Your Class C RV Cover

Removing your Class C RV cover is simple: follow the installation steps in reverse. Carefully fold and roll the cover tightly before returning it to the storage bag. This ensures it fits properly and is ready for the next use.

Important: Never store your cover while it is wet. Damp storage can lead to mildew and permanent damage.

How to Clean Your Class C RV Cover

Your Class C RV cover should only be cleaned by hand. For best results, install it on your motorhome, then rinse with a garden hose to remove surface debris. Use a soft cloth with a mild multi-purpose cleaner to gently wash. Rinse thoroughly and let the cover air dry before storage.

Cleaning Warnings

  • Do NOT use harsh soaps, bleach, or fabric softeners.
  • Do NOT machine wash or iron the cover.
  • Always air-dry fully before storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which side is the front of the cover?

Every Class C cover includes a white tag labeled “FRONT.” If the tag is missing, the tagged end is still the front of the cover.

What are the vertical zippers for?

The zippers allow access panels, so you can enter your Class C RV without fully removing the cover. Some models include rear zippers for back entry access as well.

What are the built-in Velcro straps inside the cover?

These straps keep the zippered access panels secured in place when opened, preventing them from collapsing.

Repair Patch Instructions

Use the included repair patch for small punctures or tears (under 3 inches) in flat areas of the fabric.

When to Use

  • Minor pinholes, scuffs, or tears
  • Clean cuts caused by sharp edges
  • Extra reinforcement around high-stress points like gutters

How to Apply

  1. Lay cover flat and clean/dry the damaged area.
  2. Trim loose threads; round patch corners.
  3. Ensure patch overlaps damage by 1–2 inches.
  4. Peel backing, align, and press firmly.
  5. Smooth from center outward to remove air bubbles.
  6. Allow 12–24 hours to cure before reinstalling cover.

Tip: For added strength, apply a patch on both sides of the fabric.

Your Class C RV Cover comes with one repair patch. Additional patches can be purchased here.

How do I install the ladder cap?

Wrap the ladder cap protector over your RV ladder and secure with Velcro. This prevents the ladder from rubbing or tearing the cover. One cap is included; extras are available for purchase.

How do I install the rain gutter protectors?

Place each protector over the gutter and secure with Velcro. Using all four protectors prevents sharp edges from ripping your cover.

Extra rain gutter protectors can be purchased here.

How do I use the weighted buckle bag?

Fill the toss bag with sand or rocks, clip it to a strap, and toss it underneath the RV. This makes threading the straps under a large Class C much easier.

Extra toss bags can be purchased here.
