Truck Camper Cover Installation Guide

This installation guide is designed specifically for your Truck Camper Cover. Truck campers mount directly into the bed of a pickup, combining mobility with compact living space. This guide covers everything you need—what's included with your cover, how to prepare your camper, the proper way to install and remove your truck camper cover, cleaning tips, and answers to common questions from truck camper owners.

What's Included

  • 1 × Truck Camper Cover
  • 1 × Storage Bag
  • 4 × Rain Gutter Protectors
  • 1 × Repair Patch
  • 1 × Weighted Buckles Bag

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Clean your truck camper before covering. Removing dirt, dust, and debris protects the finish and extends the life of the cover.
  • Inspect for sharp edges such as gutters, racks, or ladder corners. Pad these areas when necessary. Always use the included gutter protectors to prevent wear and avoid tearing the cover.

How to Install Your Truck Camper Cover

  • STEP 1: Unpack the camper cover on a clean, flat surface. Release all straps and buckles.
  • STEP 2: Lay the cover so the roof panel faces up.
  • STEP 3: Find the "FRONT" tag to orient the cover correctly.
  • STEP 4: Fold both side panels inward toward the roof panel, then roll the cover from back to front.
  • STEP 5: Place the rolled cover on the front roof of your truck camper. Because of the height, you may need a ladder or assistance.
  • STEP 6: Unroll the cover toward the rear, letting side panels fall naturally down the camper’s sides.
  • STEP 7: Adjust evenly across the roofline and sides.
  • STEP 8: Secure bottom corners first, then tighten straps and buckles to remove slack.
  • STEP 9: Use the weighted toss bag to guide straps underneath safely.
  • STEP 10: Finish fastening all straps. The cover should fit snugly and resist wind lift.

Warnings

  • Do not stay inside the camper while the cover is on.
  • Never move or load the camper while covered.
  • Avoid installing or removing the cover in strong winds or storms.
  • Do not stand on wet or slippery surfaces during installation.

Truck campers are elevated and heavier than small trailers, so using two people is highly recommended for a faster, safer installation.

How to Remove Your Truck Camper Cover

To remove the cover, reverse the installation steps. Fold and roll the cover neatly before placing it into the storage bag. Never store the cover damp—always let it dry completely to prevent mold.

How to Clean Your Truck Camper Cover

Only hand-clean your cover. For best results, install it on your camper and rinse with a hose. Use mild soap and a soft cloth for spot cleaning, then rinse thoroughly. Air-dry fully before storage.

Cleaning Warnings

  • Do NOT use bleach, harsh chemicals, or fabric softeners.
  • Do NOT machine wash or dry the cover.
  • Always dry completely before storing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know the front of the cover?

Every truck camper cover has a white tag labeled "FRONT." If the tag is missing, the tagged end still indicates the front.

What are the access zippers for?

The zippers create panels that allow you to enter your truck camper without removing the whole cover.

Can I patch small tears myself?

Yes. Use the included repair patch on punctures or small rips under 3 inches. Clean and dry the area, apply the patch firmly, and let cure 12–24 hours before reinstalling.

What is the weighted buckle bag used for?

Fill it with sand or small stones, clip it to a strap, and toss it underneath the camper to guide straps across safely and easily.
