Class B Motorhome RV Cover - Installation Guide

This installation guide is designed specifically for your Class B RV Cover. Class B campervans are compact and versatile, built on van chassis with lower profiles, so this guide walks you through everything you need—what's included with your cover, how to prepare your RV, the proper way to install and remove your Class B cover, tips for keeping it clean, and answers to the most common questions from Class B RV owners.

What's Included

  • 1 x Class B RV Cover
  • 1 x Storage Bag
  • 4 x Rain Gutter Protectors
  • 1 x Ladder Cap
  • 1 x Repair Patch
  • 1 x Weighted Buckles Bag

Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Wash your Class B motorhome before covering it. Removing dirt, dust, and debris helps protect the paint and extends the life of the cover.
  • Inspect for sharp edges such as mirrors, gutters, rivets, or awning corners. Pad these areas when needed. Always use the included gutter protectors and ladder cap to prevent wear and avoid tearing your Class B RV cover.

How to Install Your Class B RV Cover

  • STEP 1: Unpack the Class B RV cover on a flat, clean surface like a driveway. Release all straps and buckles.
  • STEP 2: Lay the cover so the roof panel faces upward.
  • STEP 3: Locate the tag labeled “FRONT” to position the cover correctly.
  • STEP 4: Fold both side panels inward toward the roof panel, then roll the cover from back to front.
  • STEP 5: Place the rolled cover on the roof at the front of your campervan. Since Class B RVs are lower in height, this step can usually be done without climbing equipment, though a step stool may help.
  • STEP 6: Unroll the cover toward the rear of the RV, letting the side panels drop naturally down the sides.
  • STEP 7: Adjust the cover evenly across the roofline and sides. Pull it down gently, attaching the ladder cap protector as needed.
  • STEP 8: Center the cover, then secure the bottom corners first. Tighten the straps and buckles to remove slack.
  • STEP 9: Fasten the remaining middle and lower straps. Use the weighted toss bag to guide straps safely underneath the vehicle.
  • STEP 10: Once secured, the Class B cover should fit snugly and remain stable even in light winds.

Warnings

  • Do not stay inside your Class B RV while the cover is installed.
  • Never start or run the engine while covered.
  • Avoid installing or removing the cover during strong winds.
  • Do not stand on a wet or slippery surface during installation.

Because Class B RVs are smaller, installation can often be done alone, but having two people will make the process faster and easier, especially when adjusting straps.

How to Remove Your Class B RV Cover

To remove your Class B RV cover, follow the installation steps in reverse. Fold and roll the cover neatly before placing it back in the storage bag. Proper folding ensures it fits and is ready for next use.

Important: Never store the cover while damp. Moisture can cause mildew or permanent damage.

How to Clean Your Class B RV Cover

Only hand-clean your Class B cover. For best results, install it on your campervan and rinse with a hose to remove dust and dirt. Use a soft cloth and mild cleaner for spot cleaning. Rinse well and air-dry completely before storage.

Cleaning Warnings

  • Do NOT use bleach, harsh soaps, or fabric softeners.
  • Do NOT machine wash or iron the cover.
  • Always let the cover dry completely before storing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which side is the front of the cover?

Every Class B cover has a white tag labeled “FRONT.” If the label is missing, the tagged end still indicates the front.

What are the vertical zippers for?

The zippers provide access panels, allowing you to enter your campervan without fully removing the cover. Some models also have rear zippers for back access.

What are the built-in Velcro straps inside the cover?

They hold the access panels securely when unzipped so they won’t collapse while you’re using the entry points.

Repair Patch Instructions

Use the included repair patch for small punctures or tears under 3 inches in flat areas of the cover.

When to Use

  • Small pinholes or cuts
  • Tears caused by sharp edges
  • Reinforcing high-stress spots like rain gutters

How to Apply

  1. Lay the cover flat and clean/dry the damaged spot.
  2. Trim any loose threads; round off patch corners.
  3. Ensure patch overlaps damage by 1–2 inches.
  4. Peel backing, align carefully, and press down firmly.
  5. Smooth outward from the center to remove air bubbles.
  6. Let cure for 12–24 hours before reinstalling the cover.

Tip: For maximum strength, apply a patch on both sides of the fabric.

Your Class B RV Cover comes with one repair patch. Additional patches can be purchased here.

How do I install the ladder cap?

Wrap the ladder cap protector around your RV ladder and secure with Velcro. This prevents rubbing or tearing. One is included; extras are available separately.

How do I install the rain gutter protectors?

Place each protector over a gutter and secure with Velcro. Using all four helps stop sharp edges from damaging your cover.

Extra gutter protectors are available here.

How do I use the weighted buckle bag?

Fill the toss bag with rocks or sand, clip it to a strap, and toss it beneath the RV. This makes guiding straps under your Class B much easier.

Additional toss bags can be purchased here.
