What's Included
- 1 × Fifth Wheel Trailer Cover
- 1 × Storage Bag
- 4 × Rain Gutter Protectors
- 1 × Ladder Cap (if equipped)
- 1 × Repair Patch
- 1 × Weighted Buckles Toss Bag
Pre-Installation Checklist
- Wash your fifth wheel thoroughly before covering. Removing dirt and debris protects the finish and helps the cover last longer.
- Pad sharp or protruding areas: gutter spouts, awning arms, ladder ends, bumper corners, hitch edges, etc. Use the included rain gutter protectors and ladder cap to prevent tears.
- Close windows/vents, retract antennas/awnings, shut off propane, and ensure stabilizer jacks are set.
How to Install Your Fifth Wheel Cover
- STEP 1: Unpack the cover on a clean surface. Release all straps and buckles.
- STEP 2: Position the cover so the roof panel faces upward. Locate the tag labeled “FRONT.” On fifth wheels, this corresponds to the hitch/overhang end.
- STEP 3: Fold side panels inward toward the roof and roll the cover from rear to front (toward the hitch) for easier placement.
- STEP 4: Lift the rolled cover onto the roof at the hitch side. A helper and step ladder make this safer and faster.
- STEP 5: Unroll the cover toward the rear bumper, letting side panels drape evenly.
- STEP 6: Attach the ladder cap and rain gutter protectors as you go. Center the cover before fastening.
- STEP 7: Secure bottom corners, then tighten straps and buckles along the sides to remove slack.
- STEP 8: Use the weighted toss bag to pass straps safely under the trailer.
- STEP 9: Check that the cover is snug and evenly tensioned. Re-tighten after the first day if needed.
Warnings
- Do not install or remove in high winds.
- Do not stand on a wet or slippery roof.
- Do not tow your fifth wheel with the cover on.
- Ensure hot components (generator exhaust, etc.) are cool before covering.
Due to the size and height of fifth wheels, installation is safest with two people. Communicate with your helper throughout the process.
How to Remove Your Fifth Wheel Cover
Reverse the installation steps: loosen straps, lift sides, and roll the cover from rear to hitch end. Brush off debris, fold neatly, and return it to the storage bag. Important: Never store the cover damp—air-dry completely to prevent mildew.
How to Clean Your Fifth Wheel Cover
Hand-clean only. For best results, install the cover, rinse with a hose to remove dirt, then gently wash with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and air-dry fully before storage.
Cleaning Warnings
- No harsh soaps, bleach, or fabric softeners.
- Do not machine wash or iron.
- Always air-dry completely before storing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which side is the front?
Every cover includes a white tag labeled “FRONT.” On fifth wheels, this end is the hitch/overhang side. If the tag is missing, the tagged end is still the front.
What are the vertical zippers for?
They provide access to the RV without removing the cover. Some models include rear zippers for additional access.
What are the built-in Velcro straps inside the cover?
These hold access panels open when unzipped, keeping them from flapping.
Repair Patch Instructions
Use the included repair patch for small punctures or tears (under 3 inches). Clean and dry the area, round the patch corners, overlap by 1–2 inches, press firmly, and let cure 12–24 hours before reinstalling.
Your Fifth Wheel Cover includes one repair patch. Additional patches can be purchased here.
How do I install the ladder cap?
Wrap the ladder cap over the top and secure with Velcro. This prevents rubbing or tearing. One is included; extras are available.
How do I install the rain gutter protectors?
Place a protector over each gutter spout and secure with Velcro. Using all four reduces wear on the cover.
Extra rain gutter protectors can be purchased here.
How do I use the weighted buckle bag?
Fill with sand or stones, clip to a strap, and gently toss under the RV to pass straps without crawling.
Extra toss bags can be purchased here.
