Here’s a list of top five Corvettes of all-time. Car Cover Blog compiled this list based on the most popular and prized collection Corvettes from around the U.S.

5. 1997 Corvette C5

While all its predecessors were all capable, it was the 1997 Corvette that was a comfortable cross country ride. The secret ingredient for 1997 Corvette C5 was it’s a backbone frame which balanced out the heavy engine’s mass upfront with the rear wheel mass. Featuring a 5.7L V8 with 345 horsepower this six-speed manual beauty is number five in our all-time best Corvette lineup.

4. 1955 Corvette

The 1955 is a true classic both historically and mechanically. It is the 1955 Corvette where a V-8 engine was first installed under a Corvette hood. The 195 horsepower engine paved the way for future development in automobile industry. The exterior of 1955 Corvette was however much like its predecessors from 1953 and 1954.

3. 2009 Corvette ZR1

This the only recent car that made it into our list of Corvette Hall of Fame. 2009 Corvette ZR1 features a 6.2L V8 with an impressive 638 horsepower. Even with a heart of a beast, ZR1 had a fairly modest exterior. A perfect commuter car for weekdays and an insane race maniac over the weekend. This is arguably the most capable and the fastest Corvette ever built.

2. 1990 Corvette ZR1

Corvette ZR1 remains the only Corvette that is not powered by an overhead valve engine. This C4 Corvette is a masterpiece and a true testament of the evolution of American automotive industry. The latter Corvettes (C5, C6 and now C7) have all surpassed what 1990 Corvette ZR1 achieved but that doesn't offset what this impressive talisman workhorse has achieved.

1. 1963 Corvette Fuel-Injected Coupe

More than fifty years after its started, 1963 Corvette still remains the most prized Corvette of all-time. The major sharp fender shape and impressive coupe body style sure turned head back then and turns head even today. This Corvette is the most beautiful one ever built with fixed rooftop and equally beautiful and aggressive. It is as impressive under the hood as it is in the exterior. A 360-horsepower V-8 engine capped by Rochester mechanical fuel injection made this a beast one of its kind. Oh! Did we mention the fuel tank? It was 36.5-gallon by the way.
