With lots of anticipation and great hopes to turn things around for Tesla, the Model X probably had drawn the most attention in the automobile industry. However, it fall short of expectation, at least for Tesla. According to CEO Elon Musk, “We probably got a little carried away with Model X”.

Exterior

With very flaunting, wing-like doors, Tesla Model X will definitely turn many heads. But the question is, how much customer an electric crossover will draw. With high-tech touch everywhere including a windshield with very complicated sun visors and HEPA cabin filter – the car shouts luxury but doesn't quite look as smooth as you’d expect. With self-opening doors, aero dynamic design – it seems like a very thought out vehicle but somehow feels like a piece of puzzle is missing.

Interior

One of the most futuristic cabin we have ever seen. Plenty of storage both under the front hood and back hatchback. Two row seating arrangement works perfectly fine but things start to feel a bit crammed with the third row seating. Since there’s no engine, or traditional transmission or motor parts, plenty of leg room and space inside. From the huge touch screen and all fancy bells and whistles the cabin is straight out of a sci-fi movie.

Under the Hood

Storage! There’s storage under the hood, really! This full-size, 5-door crossover SUV is powered by a Dual Motor AWD 90D which is rated at 259 horsepower in front and 503 horsepower in the rear. Model X is powered by a single-speed transaxle gearbox and surprisingly smooth for an electric vehicle. With wheelbase of 120.5 inch and a length of 198 inches – there’s plenty of power packed and delivers a range of around 250 miles on a single charge cycle.

Price

Tesla sales have been on the lower side even with the booming of the U.S. automotive industry. Part of the reason is Tesla’s high price tag and the falling price of gas which makes the concept of electric car less lucrative for the average Joe. There are plenty of options to choose from for a 2016 Tesla Model X. But be prepared to spare at least 75 grand for the base model or you can pick up a limited edition signature version of Tesla Model X with all the bells and whistles for as much as $150,000.

A car this expensive definitely calls for some extra protection and a high quality car cover will not only protect your interior and exterior but also provide the peace of mind.
