Review Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023
The Jeep Grand Cherokee line is produced by the famous American brand JEEP. Despite being launched in 1993, this car model still receives high praise when compared to its "siblings" from the same JEEP brand.
Description / Detailed Review:
Thí car is evaluated as a model with a fairly pleasant appearance. The exterior of this new Jeep is enhanced by the LED lighting system along with body details that have a more eye-catching design. Therefore, the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee has fewer similarities compared to the Touareg and X5, which resemble the original 1992 version.
The Jeep Cherokee is currently available with a total of up to 10 exterior paint colors, including Black, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Anvil, Velvet Red, Deep Cherry Red, Mango Tango, Olive Green, and Bright White.
Inside the cabin, the interior also includes 2 color combination options: Black and Black - Gray accent located on the door armrests and the entire seating area inside the cabin
Minimalistic elegant exterior:
The Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 stands out with a grille made up of vertical columns intertwined with a chrome-edged mesh grille, which expresses the characteristic features of the Jeep brand in a unique variation for the Cherokee. It is noteworthy that this grille seamlessly integrates with the hood - a rather unusual design.
The trapezoidal air vents below create a unique and intricate mesh design, with a bright chrome-plated front bumper. The two rectangular fog lamps are also eye-catching with their chrome trim. Overall, the front of the car looks "gentle" rather than aggressive, unlike many current SUV design trends.
The front headlights of the Jeep Cherokee have a sleek shape with a daytime LED strip above and a pair of Bi-LED headlamps with modern automatic on/off support below. The "eyes" give a very lively and provocative impression, as if they are "squinting".
The Jeep's rear end showcases the muscular lines of a purebred SUV: a pair of black high-styled roof rails, the entire B and C pillars painted in black to create a seamless passenger compartment when viewed from the outside. The side mirrors are body-colored and equipped with heating and power adjustment functions.
The ridges are sharply and robustly sculpted, with a delicate touch. Meanwhile, the default black trims around the wheel arches and underbody have the option of being painted the same youthful and sleek body color. The wheel set ranges from 17 to 19 inches in size, depending on the version, and features various different spoke designs.
The car's tail is majestic yet not overly intricate. Above it is a traditional column-shaped antenna and a high wind directional wing that extends quite far out. The cluster of rear lights features a simple design, seamlessly integrated into the corners of the trunk lid.
The most prominent feature at the back is perhaps the presence of a black rear bumper and a pair of trapezoidal exhaust pipes. The car's trunk door also conveniently supports power adjustment for opening and closing.
Classic Interior
The cabin design of the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is minimalistic, without luxurious wood paneling or leather wrapping, but still exudes the necessary elegance through shiny silver chrome accents around the air conditioning vents, central touchscreen display, instrument cluster, and door handles.
The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited version also makes a strong impression by equipping panoramic sunroofs for both rows of seats, providing a spacious and luxurious view for even the passengers in the back seats. This is one of the appealing features of the 2023 Jeep Cherokee, as many competitors only equip sunroofs for the front seats, such as the CX-5.
The door handle features three leather-wrapped soft metal latches and an integrated large button for adjusting sound and activating automatic acceleration. However, the clock cluster still combines analog and digital display instead of a large-sized display screen.
The seats in the car are upholstered in premium perforated leather, which is breathable. The front seats provide 8-way power adjustments and heating support for a comfortable ride, while the driver's seat has an additional convenient position memory feature. The rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 ratio to expand the trunk space. All windows in the cabin can be easily operated by power controls and move smoothly up and down.
Attractive and practical amenities.
The 2023 Jeep Cherokee boasts many attractive features, such as a powerful dual-zone automatic air conditioning system that quickly cools the entire cabin and maintains clean air quality through a specialized filter. The vehicle also displays the outside temperature to prevent passengers from being caught off guard by sudden changes in temperature.
Additionally, the Cherokee 2023 supports Radio and Wireless connectivity, as well as voice control, with two entertainment screen sizes available - either 7-inch or 8.4-inch, depending on the version - that are compatible with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Engine - Transmission and Operation
The Jeep Cherokee Limited version as illustrated on the JVA website is equipped with the most powerful V6 engine among the current engines available on the Cherokee, with a displacement of 3.2L, capable of producing 271 horsepower at 6500 RPM and a maximum torque of 239 Nm at 4400 RPM.
In addition, some other versions are also equipped with two other engine options, including:
A turbocharged I-4 engine with a displacement of 2.0L, generating 270 horsepower at 5250 RPM and 295 Nm at 3000 RPM.
An I-4 engine with a displacement of 2.4L, producing 180 horsepower at 6400 RPM and 171 Nm at 4600 RPM.
All versions use a 9-speed automatic transmission, supporting both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations.
The 2023 Cherokee version equipped with the V6 engine promises to make a real difference in terms of powerful driving experience compared to the engines on the Honda CR-V (1.5L turbocharged, 188 horsepower and 240 Nm, CVT) and Mazda CX-5 (2.5L larger version, 188 horsepower and 251 Nm, 6-speed automatic).
The safety is not impressive yet
Although the price point for the distribution of the 5-seater Jeep SUV is high, the safety equipment is not really impressive and is almost "clumsy" compared to the current full-option models of Japanese and Korean crossovers. The Cherokee is mainly equipped with very basic features such as:
- Anti-lock braking system
- Electronic stability control integrated with rollover prevention
- Cruise control
- Blind-spot warning
- Emergency brake assist
- Traction control
- Parking sensors
- Low tire pressure warning
- 6 airbags
Conclusion
The Jeep Cherokee is a 5-seater SUV that showcases the practicality of Americans: all amenities serve the user's maximum needs, with nothing wasteful, simple yet durable design, and even powerful engine options for those who enjoy a spirited driving experience.
