The concept of luxury SUVs has been a hotly debated one over the past decade. While the majority of manufacturers have promoted their own idea of what constitutes luxurious, few have actually crossed the public divide on what actually makes a “luxury” vehicle. To some, it's all about slick performance and handling capabilities. To others, it's about literal luxury: diamonds, fine china, and trim. The Bentayga offers both of these and does so in an exceptionally well-balanced package.

The Bentayga's styling, according to Bentley, is “timeless”. However, it's debatable as to what angle they were attempting to go for when calling the design timeless. It is a very tame visual presentation on the outside with a refreshingly modern look taken from the current Bentley vehicle range. It also has a touch of added mesh and chrome. Its LED headlights are capable of operating at Autobhan speeds thanks to its extended headlamp washers that keep the lights stable and secure during high-speed operation.

If there's one thing Bentley does well, it's its interior cabins and the Bentayga is no exception. A haven of wood, leather, and chrome, the cockpit comes complete with various metal trims on the gear lever, various controllers and vents, and the air-vent pull. One feature that stands out above the rest actually comes from its options: A Mulliner Tourbillon. This timepiece, a classically-styled mechanical watch, will automatically wind itself and comes presented in a trio of solid gold, diamonds, and either pearl or ebony faces. If there's one thing that screams absolute luxury, then this would be it in a vehicle.

Under the Hood

Bentley has done little to change its already very impressive performance standards and the twelve-cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine is capable of putting out 600 horsepower and 663 pounds of torque. Bentley states this will have a 0-60 time of 4.0 seconds and an overall top speed of 187 miles per hour. This is easily one of the fastest luxury SUVs on the market today, which completely ousts the Range Rover and Cayenne Turbo. It is also able to boast respectable fuel economy for a luxury SUV: 14 mph city, 20 mpg highway, 16 mpg combined.

With all of these luxury features, it's understandable that the Bentayga comes with a luxurious and otherworldly price tag. Prospective buyers can expect to see a $229,100 sticker in their nearest showroom.

With this sort of price on the line, buyers will quite obviously want to protect their investment as much as possible. This is mostly easily accomplished by using a car cover from, which will protect the vehicle against atmospheric damage and quality degradations over time.
