2024 Range Rover Evoque Review: Unveiling Evolution
Overview
The 2024 Range Rover Evoque is an icon of style in the automotive industry, featuring advanced exterior design and luxurious interior space. This model has a starting price of $51,075. The 2024 Evoque is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter P250 engine, generating 246 horsepower, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. However, despite its off-road capabilities, the Evoque may not be the best choice for rugged terrains.
The interior of the 2024 Evoque has been enhanced with an 11.4-inch curved touchscreen, a redesigned central control panel, and the addition of three new paint colors: Arroios Grey, Tribeca Blue, and Corinthian Bronze. It is important to note, however, that compared to other models in the same segment such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, and Volvo XC40, the Evoque has a smaller rear seat and cargo space. Additionally, the fuel efficiency performance of the Evoque is not particularly commendable.

What's new with the 2024 Range Rover Evoque?
The Range Rover Evoque 2024, manufactured by the British luxury car brand Jaguar Land Rover, is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV with seating for five. Although Jaguar Land Rover is currently under the ownership of the Indian conglomerate Tata, its products continue to uphold a distinct identity. The Range Rover Evoque has evolved from its first generation (L538, 2011-2018) to its current second generation (L551, 2018-present).
The second-generation Range Rover Evoque was introduced in November 2018 in London, UK, maintaining the traditional silhouette of its predecessor but incorporating design influences from its older sibling, the Range Rover Velar.
Moving into 2024, the Range Rover Evoque 2024 undergoes several changes:
- Trim Options: The model now offers only two trim levels, namely S and Dynamic SE.
- Engine Configuration: The turbocharged four-cylinder P300 engine with 296 horsepower has been discontinued, leaving only the P250 variant with 246 horsepower.
- Interior Updates: Inside the cabin, the Evoque 2024 introduces a new 11.4-inch curved touchscreen, and the central control panel undergoes a redesigned layout.
- Exterior Changes: Three new exterior paint options are introduced: Arroios Gray, Tribeca Green, and Corinthian Bronze. The front grille and headlights receive subtle refinements.

2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Pricing
The 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque starts at $49,900. The sportier Dynamic SE trim begins at $54,900.
Every competitor in the subcompact luxury SUV class has a lower starting price than the Range Rover Evoque, most by a significant margin. The BMW X1, Audi Q3, and Mercedes-Benz GLA all start at around the $40,000 mark.
2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Trims | MSRP |
Range Rover Evoque S | $49,900 |
Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SE | $54,900 |

Exterior 2024 Evoque
In my personal observation, when admiring the overall look of the car, the rugged and luxurious appearance is the hallmark of the vehicle. In this new generation, the Evoque maintains its square silhouette but incorporates some changes to stay more in line with current trends. The 2024 Evoque has undergone a complete transformation, especially in the front and rear sections.
The front of the car draws design inspiration from the Velar model, featuring prominent headlight clusters and a delicate grille. The air vents also resemble those of its "sibling" in the same family. A new addition is the front LED positioning lights, consisting of an oval shape combined with a curved LED strip. The three-tier fog lights are larger than the headlight unit.

The body details showcase familiar robust lines, with wheel options ranging from 17 to 21 inches depending on the model. The overall dimensions of the 2024 Evoque are slightly larger than the previous generation, measuring 4,371 x 1,996 (with mirrors unfolded 2,100) x 1,649 mm. Meanwhile, the wheelbase length is 2,681 mm, the ground clearance is 212 mm, and it boasts a water-wading capability of up to 600 mm.
From my perspective, the side and rear of the 2024 Evoque closely resemble the Velar, thanks to the taillights seamlessly connected by the Range Rover logo on a glossy black plastic panel. Compared to its predecessor, the rear of the car is slightly shorter. By combining the overall sporty look of the first-generation Evoque with the award-winning design of the Velar, the new Range Rover Evoque appears more attractive, dynamic, and sportier than ever.
My evaluation of the Range Rover Evoque 2024's exterior reveals no significant changes compared to the current version. The alterations are limited to subtle adjustments to the front of the car and smoother body lines, contributing to an improved aerodynamic profile.

Interior, amenities, and luggage compartment
Although Range Rover is known as a luxurious SUV, my first impression when stepping into the interior of the car is still astonishment at its convenience, modernity, and luxuriousness. The interior and amenities of Land Rover's Crossover/SUV have also been significantly upgraded. It can be seen from the open, spacious, and square dashboard design, similar to larger Range Rover models, and the vehicle takes a remarkable step forward in terms of cabin technology. The new-generation Evoque is equipped with a three-screen display system. A 12.3-inch digital screen replaces the traditional instrument cluster, while the other two screens, named Touch Pro Duo, are placed in the center. The steering wheel also features a new design with two modern touch control clusters, combined with a digital speedometer.

The central screen of the 2023 version. However, the 2024 Evoque adds a curved 11.4-inch touchscreen, and the center control panel is redesigned. There are two interior color options: cowhide or cream. Thanks to the increased length, the interior space of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2nd generation is more spacious than the previous generation. The legroom for rear passengers is increased by 25 mm, making sitting in the back more comfortable. Basic amenities such as dual-zone automatic air conditioning, panoramic sunroof, Touch Pro Duo entertainment information system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the Meridian speaker system (compatible with smartwatches), heads-up display (HUD), smart start, and flat-folding rear seats are included.
While the storage compartments in the center console may be larger, the luggage compartment volume in the car has also increased by 10% compared to the previous generation, reaching 591 liters. If the rear seats are folded completely, it can reach up to 1,383 liters.

Entertainment and Connectivity Technology
The most significant upgrade lies in the Pivi Pro entertainment information system, originally equipped in its predecessor, the Land Rover Defender. It comes with the Snapdragon processor, the QNX operating system, and two Qualcomm LTE modems. Now, the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque can automatically update its software through the internet without the need to visit a dealership. The Pivi Pro system also features a dedicated charging port usable when the vehicle is turned off, allowing for the simultaneous connection of two smartphones. In addition to the Pivi Pro entertainment system, the Evoque 2024 utilizes the new Electrical Vehicle Architecture platform, similar to the Defender. This new platform incorporates up to 85 Electronic Control Units (ECUs) that can intervene in the steering assistance and amenities of the vehicle.
Furthermore, the 2024 Range Rover Evoque has received several other upgrades, including:
- Wireless charging pad
- Waterproof Active Key smart wristband
- Cabin air filtration system
Meanwhile, the dual 10-inch screens and the Smart Settings technology utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), which were standout features in its predecessor, are retained.

Power, Strength, and Performance
The 2024 Range Rover Evoque continues to utilize a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. This powerplant is capable of generating a maximum output of 246 horsepower and a peak torque of 365 Nm. It is coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission and a full-time all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
The off-road capability of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque 2024 is far from ordinary, thanks to its advanced support systems, including:
- Terrain Response 2 terrain control system: Utilizing radar to gather data about the terrain ahead, it automatically adjusts the settings to match the conditions.
- New-generation Active Driveline/Driveline Disconnect: Enhancing power, fuel efficiency, and reducing emissions.
- All Terrain Progress Control terrain control system.
- Torque Vectoring by Braking for precise brake force control.
In addition, the 2024 Range Rover Evoque boasts a generous ground clearance of 212 mm and the ability to wade through water up to 600 mm.
Fuel efficiency, fuel savings
The fuel consumption of the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is 9 L/100KM (most fuel-efficient), and the highest fuel consumption is 10.23 L/100KM.
