2018 Nissan Sentra is a decent, compact, urban commuter with a modest price tag. There are as many as nine available trims to choose from. While the lower trims are simple and straightforward, there are some fun options in the upper trims, namely Turbo and Nismo. Click here to read our full review on 2018 Nissan Sentra

While Nissan is not known for head turning exteriors with few exceptions (think 350Z, 370Z), the 2018 Nissan Sentra does okay. It’s not hideous by any means but let’s face it: it is no chick magnet either. The sheet metal on Sentra is inspired by Nissan Altima and its body line runs from nose to tail. The upper trims got a LED daytime running lights, some accents and spoilers. However, the base trims are pretty bland.

Nissan Sentra 2018 Exterior

The 2018 Nissan Sentra is roomy for up to four. Nissan keeps the interior equally simple as the exterior. The upright and practical interior is plain and simple without any glitters. The base trims aren’t ashamed to show their matte plastic materials pointing to its budget conscious design. However, the dash looks great with some gentle curve that flows across a tidy two-tier arrangement. All in all, 2018 Nissan Sentra features a practical interior that’s not too dazzling.

Under the Hood
The base engine is a 1.8 liter, inline-4 producing a mere 124 horses. Coupled with a continuously variable transmission – 2018 Sentra lives on the margin as an urban commuter. You have the option to opt for a 6-speed manual transmission but that’s not going to change things up drastically. However, there’s an available upgrade: 1.6-liter, turbo-4 at 188 horsepower. Definitely more capable and more fun to drive but the Turbo Sentras seem to be a tad bit too expensive for what they offer.

The base 2018 Nissan Sentra comes with a modest price tag of under $17,000. But there are as many as nine trims to choose from. Top of the tier Nismo trim costs $25,790 without options or packages added. While the Turbo and Nismo trims seem a bit expensive, the lower trims are priced quite reasonably.

All in all, the 2018 Nissan Sentra is a good commuter for a budget conscious driver. It provides decent comfort, good fuel efficiency and more than enough under the hood to take you from point A to point B. With proper care and maintenance it has the potential to be your commuter for years to come. Consider investing in a high quality 2018 Nissan Sentra car cover.
